Margaret M. Gronau
Margaret M. Gronau, 87, homemaker, died
Saturday (Nov. 22, 2003) at her residence in Newton.
She was born Nov. 5, 1916, to Michael
and Mary Justine (Sieg) Grochowsky in Newton. They preceded her in
death. She married Martin B. Gronau Nov. 24, 1938, in Newton. He
preceded her in death June 18, 2001.
She was raised in Newton and graduated
from Newton High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She also was a
member of St. Mary's Altar Society. She enjoyed cooking, baking,
preparing meals for her family and her church work. She enjoyed
visiting with family, friends and neighbors. She took a personal
interest in her family's lives and activities.
Survivors include: a son, Don Gronau of
Newton; four daughters, Theresa Saven of Painesville, Ohio, Margaret
Mary Buchman of Alta Vista, Darlene Reuter of Kansas City, Mo., and
Becky Torres of Newton; a sister, Dolores McNeill of Newton; 23
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by: and
infant son, Anthony Gronau; two brothers, Vincent Grochowsky and Leon
Grochowsky; two sisters, Gertrude Hawk and Barbara Grochowsky.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p. m.
today and 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral
Home.
Recitation of the rosary will be 7 p.
m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton with Father Floyd
McKinney officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic
Cemetery in Newton.
Memorials have been established with
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and St. Mary's Catholic School,
both in care of the funeral home.
