Carol J. Miller
Carol J. Miller, 75, of Newton, died Wednesday (Aug. 12,
2009) at Asbury Park in Newton.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1934, in Nickerson, the daughter of
Vern Cecil and Grace Elsie Mattal Pike. They preceded her in death.
She was a 1952 graduate of Nickerson High School and
attended college in Great Bend and Pratt. A former resident of Nickerson,
Hutchinson, Wichita and Stafford, she was an occupational therapist working in
several nursing homes.
On Aug. 26, 2000, she married Jim F. Miller at the Carey
Park Gazebo. He survives.
Other survivors include four sons, James Stahl of
Hutchinson, Douglas Stahl of Greensburg, Steven Stahl of Hutchinson and Donald
Stahl of Newton; two daughters, Janice Kirk of Wichita and Karen Ryan of
Stafford; a sister, Jean Yoder of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott
Mortuary Chapel in Hutchinson, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the chapel,
with the Rev. James Spence presiding.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made to the KU Burn Center or the Crippled
Children's Association in care of Elliott Mortuary.
