Ysidra Medina Balerio
Ysidra Medina Balerio, 89, died Thursday (Aug. 13, 2009) in
Sedgwick.
Ysidra was born on May 28, 1920, in Torreon, Coahila,
Mexico, to Hilario and Donaciana Loera Medina.
She married Jose Menchaca Balerio on Dec. 31, 1943, in
Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1973.
Ysidra was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her family
was her No. 1 priority. She was a friend to all and a very giving and generous
person. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, and was a very good cook. She was a
member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton.
She is survived by four sons, Robert and Sandra Balerio,
Andy and Sue Balerio, Martin Balerio, and Bernie Balerio; daughter, Carmen and
Joseph Bribiesca; and five grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by
four brothers, Atanasio, Justo, Francisco and Mauro Medina, and three sisters,
Maria, Anastasia and Nina.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen
Funeral Home in Newton. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 p.m.
Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with the family greeting
friends afterward.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at
Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Rev. Juan Garza will be the Celebrant.
A memorial has been established for Our Lady of Guadalupe
Church.
