Myrtle Anna Kinser

HAVILAND - Myrtle Anna Kinser, 95, died Sunday (Aug. 16, 2009) at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. She was born on Feb. 11, 1914, in Stevens County, the daughter of Horace and Viola Smith Wheeler. They preceded her in death. She married Elrie Kinser on March 25, 1934, at Bethel Friends Church. They moved many times during the early years of their marriage, finding work with different farmers. In 1945, they settled with their family and farmed in Stevens County, until their retirement in 1977 to Haviland. They moved to Presbyterian Manor in Newton in 2007. Survivors include her husband, Elrie Kinser; four sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Mary Ann Kinser of Sun City West, Ariz., Merl and Eunice Kinser of Coyle, Okla., Delmar and Phyllis Kinser of Newton, and Irvin and Jean Kinser of Bonner Springs; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Floyd Wheeler of Pratt; and many other relatives and friends. Myrtle also was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Wheeler, Leslie Wheeler and Clarence Wheeler; and her sister, Gertrude Bushweiler. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Haviland Friends Church in Haviland, with Pastor John Havens presiding. Burial will follow at the Haviland Cemetery. The family requests donations be made in her memory to either Barclay College or Gideons International, both in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St., Greensburg, KS 67054.
