Ruth Helen (Koby) Sheffler
Ruth Helen (Koby) Sheffler, 84, of rural Moundridge, beloved
mother of four, died Sunday (Aug. 16, 2009).
She was born on Aug. 27, 1924, in rural Sedgwick, the
daughter of Lyle D. and Lelah Koby.
On Oct. 13, 1944, she married William Andrew Sheffler in
rural Sedgwick. He preceded her in death.
She retired from Boeing Aircraft Co. in Wichita after 40
years of service.
Survivors include sons, Jerrold and Shirley Sheffler of
Sedgwick, Ronald Sheffler of Wichita, and Michael and Shelly Sheffler of
Catoosa, Okla.; daughter, Annette and Doug Streight of St. Marys, Ohio; three
sisters, Mary Clark of Newton, Viola Strausz of Hutchinson and Ermina Shepherd
of Newton; three brothers, Ralph Koby of Wichita, Lloyd Koby of Hot Springs,
Ark., and Isaac Koby of Ennis, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a brother.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen
Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Valley
Church in rural Sedgwick, with Pastor Paul Wulff officiating. Burial will be at
Pleasant Valley Cemetery in rural Sedgwick.
Memorials may be sent to Pleasant Valley Church or Hospice
Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
