Leonard H. Buller
Leonard H. Buller, 96, died Monday (Aug. 17, 2009) at Kidron
Bethel Healthcare in North Newton.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1913, in Buhler to David and
Katherine (Unruh) Buller. They preceded him in death.
On Jan. 22, 1950, he married Elvira Richert. She preceded
him in death on Sept. 17, 2000.
Leonard served his country during World War II, where he
attained the rank of staff sergeant.
He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Newton. He was
a retired accountant for the former Ross Flour Mill in Newton.
Leonard's family and friends were very important to him. He
greatly enjoyed spending time with his sons and looked forward to their
frequent visits. He will be missed for his great sense of humor and positive
outlook on life.
Survivors include sons, Paul and Beverley Buller of Newton,
and John and Anne Buller of Crowley, Texas; and a sister, Emma Frey of North
Newton.
He also was preceded in death by sisters, Linda Buller, Sara
Mitzner, Anna Buller and Tina Buller; and brothers, David Buller and Bert Buller.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen
Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
A graveside committal service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at
Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, followed by service at 10:30 a.m. at First
Mennonite Church in Newton, with Pastor Joan Boyer of the church officiating.
