Eunice L. Godsey
MINNEOLA - Eunice L. Godsey, 89, died Tuesday (Aug. 18,
2009) at Minneola Long Term Care Unit in Minneola.
She was born On Oct. 30, 1919, in Vermillian to Roy Dallas
and Hulda Anna (Cannon) Stowell. They preceded her in death.
On Sept. 4, 1937, she married Devere E. Godsey in
Washington, Kan. He preceded her in death.
Eunice was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newton.
She was a devoted homemaker and loving mother and wife. Family was very
important to Eunice, and she greatly looked forward to spending time with her
loving family and many friends.
Survivors include son, Lamont and Brenda Godsey of Pearland,
Texas; daughters, Beverly and Tom Gilmore of Minneola, and Connie M. Dixson of
Liberty, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by brothers, Kim D. Stowell
and Floyd Stowell; and sisters, Gladys Bowen, Maude Gill and Mildred Murphy.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Petersen
Funeral Home in Newton.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home,
with the Rev. James W. Anderson of First Presbyterian Church in Newton
officiating.
