Edythe M. Magnuson
CENTRAL CITY, Neb. -- Edythe M.
Magnuson, 81, died Sunday (Feb. 29, 2004) at Litzenberg Memorial
County Hospital in Central City, Neb. She was born May 21, 1922, to
Otto and Matilda (Thimm) Schmidt in Newton. She married Wayne
Magnuson Aug. 31, 1957, at Bethel Mennonite Church in North Newton.
He survives. She grew up in Newton where she attended school and
graduated from Newton High School in 1940. She continued her
education at Bethel College in North Newton and received a bachelor's
degree in English literature. She complteed her master's degree in
library science from Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas.
She was a research librarian for Boeing in Wichita where she met her
husband.
She was a member of Central City United
Methodist Church and the Lone Tree Singers Choir. She was an avid
sports fan, especially Nebraska football, and enjoyed playing cards.
Other survivors include: a son, Ray
Magnuson of Spokane, Wash.; two daughters, Dr. Judy Magnuson Rolofson
of Lincoln, Neb., and Susan Larkins of Hastings, Nev.; and six
grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p. m.
Wednesday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City.
Funeral service will be 10 a. m.
Thursday at United Methodist Church in Central City with the Rev. Joy
Savage officiating.
Burual will be in Central City
Cemetery.
