Linda R. Lopez
Linda R. Lopez died on Wednesday (July 15, 2009) in Wichita
after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born in Los Angeles in 1961 and has lived in Newton
for the last 15 years.
Linda was a person who enjoyed life and people. She was an
avid reader and deeply loved her husband, parents, children, grandchildren and
her dogs.
She is survived by her husband, Cesar Castillo of Newton;
children, Michelle Madrigal (Raphael) of Newton, Jose Lopez of Newton, Michael
Mosqueda of Wichita, Marcos (Jennifer) Mosqueda of Wichita, and Monica Mosqueda
of Newton; father and mother, Jesus Antonio and Francesca Lopez of Kennewick,
Wash.; brothers, Johnny Lopez of Las Vegas and Jesus Antonio Lopez Jr. of
Kennewick; and sisters, Lucinda Marie Lopez of Kennewick, and Maria Elizabeth
Smith of Idaho Falls, Idaho. There are seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen
Funeral Home in Newton, with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. to greet
friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First
Church of God in Newton. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Linda Lopez
Memorial Fund in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
