Roma A. Jantz
Roma A. Jantz, 79, of Hesston died Saturday (May 30, 2009)
at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis campus in Wichita. She was
born March 4, 1930, in Newton to Daniel and Anna Mae (Steiner) Jantz. She had
worked as a dietary aide at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was a member of
Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, in rural Hesston. Survivors
include brothers Marion Jantz of Horton, Mo., Jason Jantz of McPherson and
Donald Jantz of Butler, Mo.; sisters Adella Jantz of Hesston, Bernice
Nightengale of Ingels, Waneta Amstutz of Sandston, Va., and Emily Nachtigal of
Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers Cecil Jantz, Marcellus
Jantz and Glenn Jantz.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Miller
Funeral Home in Hesston and from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, where
family will greet friends.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Meridian
Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, which is two miles east and two miles north
of Hesston. Pastors Eldon Wenger and Franklin Wenger will officiate.
Burial will be at the church cemetery following the service.
Memorials may be made to Christian Service International in
care of the church or to the Harvey County Cancer Society.
