Dr. Clayton H. Diener
Dr. Clayton H. Diener, 90, passed away Thursday (June 4,
2009) at his home in Hesston.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1918, in Proctor, Mo., to Harry A.
and Amanda (Selzer) Diener.
He married Inez Snyder on June 22, 1945, in Albany, Ore. She
survives of Hesston.
He worked in general medical practice in Puerto Rico, Haven
and Hesston before serving as the chief of surgery at the Veterans
Administration Hospital in Wichita for 25 years.
He was a member of Whitestone Mennonite Church in Hesston.
Other survivors include sons, Don and Maria Diener of Las
Vegas, Dwight Diener of Hesston and Dennis Diener of New Haven, Conn.;
brothers, Edward and Esther Diener of Archbold, Ohio, Paul Diener of Hesston,
and Herman and Mary Ellen Diener of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Carrie Diener;
and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel, Truman,
Willard and Harold.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral
Home in Hesston, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eastlawn Cemetery in
rural Hesston, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at Whitestone
Mennonite Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Harry and Amanda
Diener Scholarship Fund at Hesston College.
