Shirley 'Grandma' Hall
Shirley 'Grandma' Hall, 85, owner of 81 Speedway, passed
away Friday (June 5, 2009).
She was born on Dec. 21, 1923, to Clark and Elsie Miller.
They preceded her in death.
She married Charles 'Bill' Hall, who preceded her in death.
Bill and Shirley owned and operated Hall Wholesale in Newton
for many years.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Venny Hall
and Vicki Houle; grandson, Todd Coleman; and sister, Dorothy Ashcraft.
Survivors include her son, C-Ray Hall; daughter and
son-in-law, Sandy and Dick Coleman; grandchildren, Mylisa Powers, Dena Martin,
Scott Coleman, Billy Houle and Danele Warner; 10 great-grandchildren; five
brothers, Dale Miller of Florence, Mark Miller of Newton, Neil (Melva) Miller
of Wichita, Sam (Bonnie) Miller of Hesston, and Vern (Liz) Miller of North
Newton; one sister, Becky (Mike) Crupper of Newton; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riverlawn
Christian Church, Kansas Highway 96 and Meridian.
Following burial in Newton, family and friends are invited
to a time of sharing, memories and fellowship at 81 Speedway.
