Alma Darlene Ovre McChesney
Alma Darlene Ovre McChesney, 80, passed away Monday (June
15, 2009).
She was born on Sept. 4, 1928, in South Dakota, the daughter
of Clarence and Alma Ovre. They preceded her in death.
She was raised in a farming community, where she met her
future husband, Leo. They were married on Sept. 15, 1946.
In her lifetime, she worked many jobs, but her passion was
fulfilled when she cooked and baked for the children of Hesston schools.
She leaves behind two children, Donna (Dan) Haas and Neil
(Kathryn) McChesney; grandchildren, Daniel (Jill) and Erik Feay, and Shane and
Andrea McChesney; great-grandchild, Kiara; sisters, Helen Rippentrop and
Shirley Walker; nephews; nieces; and a host of friends.
She also was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62
years, Leo; and her brother, Clair.
Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Schowalter
Villa Chapel in Hesston.
Memorials may be made to the Schowalter Villa Good Samaritan
Fund. Petersen Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements and cremation.
