Dorothy L. Miles
Dorothy L. Miles, 83, died Thursday (May 7, 2009) at
Schowalter Villa in Hesston. Dorothy was born on Oct. 30, 1925, in Newton to
William and Myrtle Medley. They preceded her in death. She married Clayton
Miles on Jan. 30, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1999. Dorothy worked as a
seamstress, florist and bookkeeper in Newton. She enjoyed quilting and was a
loving grandmother and mother. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist
Church and regularly attended Trinity Heights United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Duane and Jennifer Miles of
Newton; two grandchildren, Blake Miles, and Kelly and James McGarry, all of
Parker, Colo.; and great-grandson, Kyle McGarry of Parker.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane
Goodnight.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Petersen's Funeral Home
Chapel in Newton. The Rev. Phil Fischer will preside.
Burial will be at Restlawn Gardens of Memory.
