Obituary
Nadine Ruth Mong, 83, passed away Feb.
13, 2015, in Tulsa, Okla.
Nadine was born Oct. 11, 1931, in
Milwaukee, Wis., to the Rev. Emil and Emma Eske. She attended
Wartburg College in Waverly and graduated from Wisconsin State
College in Milwaukee. She taught kindergarten at St. Paul's Lutheran
School in Waverly. She met and later married Robert C. Mong on June
9, 1956. They lived in Waverly several years. For decades after, the
family visited Robert's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Mong, sister
and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Schield in Waverly. She raised two
daughters, Lisa and Lori. The family followed Robert's career around
the farm belt, living in Waverly, Newton, Kan., Itasca, Ill., and
North Manchester, Ind.
Nadine was gifted with many creative
talents. She loved music, singing in many church choirs and choruses.
She and Robert performed many piano-violin duets together. She was a
talented watercolor artist. Her decorating creativity graced each of
the family homes. She spent many years volunteering for the American
Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels. She received greatest meaning
from her 14 years of group leadership with Bible Study Fellowship
International.
Nadine and Robert retired in Bella
Vista, Ark., followed by living in Wichita, Kan., and finally Tulsa.
Nadine is survived by her husband,
Robert, of Tulsa, daughters Lisa Sifuentes, of Bixby, Okla., and Lori
Saas, of Tulsa, and two sisters, Dorothy Fletcher and Bernice
Langholz. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandson
Andrew Saas.
Cremation and funeral services took
place Feb. 21, 2015, in Tulsa. Internment services will be October
29, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Harlington Cemetery in Waverly.
