John L. Hybsha
John L. Hybsha, 77, died Thursday (April 16, 2009) at Harry
Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
He was born Sept. 28, 1931, in Barber County to John and
Mary Ellen (Axtell) Hybsha. He was a retired firefighter.
He married Wilma Hybsha on Dec. 26, 1985, in Marion. He
belonged to the Goessel Lions Club, Masonic Lodge in Newton, Million Dollar
Band and the Goessel Mennonite Church.
John was known as a muleskinner. He also was a pilot and
would transport children to the Shriner's Hospital. He had a caring heart and a
great sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife of Newton; son, Leslie Hybsha of
Newton; stepsons, Kyle Schirer, Brian Schirer and Kent Schirer, all of Newton;
daughters, Lois Harris of Newton and Mary Marquez of Casper, Wyo.;
stepdaughter, Brenda Jennings of Wichita; brother, Al Hybsha of Medicine Lodge;
and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters Helen Walker, Dorothy
Branson and Maureen Lefurgy.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday with family
present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Goessel Mennonite
Church with Pastor Mike Hiebert officiating.
Burial will be in Claney Cemetery south of Marion.

Church in care of the funeral home.
