L. Allan Hague
TOPEKA -- L. Allan Hague, 82, died
Monday (March 15, 2004) at a Topeka hospital. He was born April 7,
1921, in Courtland to Clarence and Marian (Muirhead) Hague. He spent
his early years in Dresden and graduated from high school in Dodge
City. After high school, he moved to Newton and worked for Santa Fe
Railroad until retiring in 1981. He married Winifred Blankenship Jan.
15, 1955, in Newton. She survives of Topeka. He was a member of the
Brotherhood of Railway Clerks in Newton. He was involved in Scouting
for many years and was part of a group of national Scout leaders who helped rewrite the Scout handbook. He was a Scout leader with Boy Scout Troop No. 45 at Salem United Methodist Church, where he and
his wife were members. In 1999, he moved to Topeka. He was a member of
Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church.
Other Survivors include: two sons,
Barth Hague and wife Betty Jo of Goshen, Ind., and Brian Hague and
wife Tonya of Overland Park; a daughter; Cathy Kofoid and husband
Kyle of Topeka; two sisters, Connie Dawe of Denver and Ann Lea
Ratzlaff of Halstead; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two
sisters, Beth Seyfried and Louise Wetzel.
Family will greet friends from 9:30 a.
m. until the service hour Thursday at the church. Memorial service will
be 10 a. m. Thursday at Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church.
Graveside service will be 3 p. m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in
Newton.
A memorial has been established with
Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church youth group, 6020 S.E. 44Th,
Tecumseh, KS. 66542. Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
