Esther U. Johnson
HALSTEAD -- Esther U. Johnson, 89,
homemaker, died Monday (March 15, 2004) at Halstead Health &
Rehabilitation Center in Halstead. She was born Feb. 17, 1915, to
Noah T. and Carrie (Jantzen) Unruh in Coldwater. They preceded her in
death. She married Curtis Johnson Oct. 6, 1937, in Newton. He
survives of Halstead. She was a longtime Halstead resident and a
member of Grace Mennonite Church in rural Halstead. Other survivors
include: two brothers, Melvin Unruh of Macon, Miss., and Joe Unruh of
Halstead; and two sisters, Alma Dirks of Montezuma and Hazel Jantz of
Livingston, Calif.
She also was preceded in death by two
sisters, Lorene Becker and Eva Wiens.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.
m. Wednesday at Moundridge Funeral Home in Moundridge.
Funeral service will be 10 a. m.
Thursday at Grace Mennonite Church in rural Halstead with Kenneth
Smith, StanleyWiggers and Dean Becker officiating.
Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery.
