Carlene M. Nguyen
Carlene M. Nguyen, 57, died Saturday (March 7, 2009)
at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis campus in Wichita.
She was born on June 11, 1951, in Ishpeming, Mich.,
to Eino and Gladys Mustamaa. They preceded her in death.
On June 3, 1975, she married Khanh Nguyen in
Negaunee, Mich. He survives of the home in Newton.
Carlene was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Catholic Church in Newton. She was a homemaker and greatly enjoyed spending
time with her many friends and loving family.
Other survivors include sons, James Newsted and
JoDean Miller of Centralia, Mo., and Shane Nguyen of Newton; daughters,
Michelle and Steve Garcia of Newton, Shanna Nguyen of Bridgeport, Conn., and
Lauren Nguyen of Wichita; brother, Gerald Mustamaa; sister, Jean Hill of
Michigan; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Loren
Mustamaa.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The family will receive
friends at the church following the Rosary.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our
Lady of Guadalupe, with the Rev. Juan Garza of the church officiating.
A private family interment will be conducted.
Petersen Funeral Home in Newton is in charge of
arrangements.
