Elaine Dolores McCune
Elaine Dolores McCune, 84, formerly of Benton, died
Thursday (March 5, 2009) at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.
Elaine was born on May 18, 1924, in Newton, the
daughter of Abram and Florence (Hawkey) Grabill.
She graduated from Newton High School and worked for
KG&E as a secretary. Elaine was a member of Benton Christian Church, and
she loved to garden and read.
On Nov. 4, 1945, she and Vernon McCune were united
in marriage in Hesston. He preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2004.
She leaves two sons, Bruce (Mary) McCune of Augusta
and Ron (Carla) McCune of Benton; a daughter, Debbie (Clayton) Mills of
Cunningham; four grandchildren, Ryan (Micky) McCune of Benton, Wendy (Scott)
Dunson of Bel Aire, Carrie Mills of Wichita, and Chad (Cori) Mills of Star,
Idaho; and great-grandchildren, Anaya and Sophia McCune, Cadell Mills, and one
on the way.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at
Benton Cemetery.
