Obituary
Mildred Virginia "Millie"
Thach, 87, died Saturday (March 3, 2018) at Mount Hope Nursing
Center. She was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Burrton, to Vernon Joseph and
Mary Burnice (Ansel) Hill.
Millie graduated Burrton High School in
1948. She was a lifelong resident of rural Burrton. Millie was a
homemaker and farmer's wife. Her most important role was that of a
loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Millie loved to
cook for her family and numerous friends, and was famous for her
cherry pies. She also enjoyed watching sporting events and had a soft
spot for all kinds of animals. Millie was a member of South
Hutchinson United Methodist Church.
On October 15, 1949, she married
William L. "Bill" Thach in Burrton. They shared 67 years of
marriage before his death on Jan. 27, 2017.
Survivors include daughter, Jodie Thach
of Burrton; son, Larry and wife Teresa of Wichita; granddaughters,
Emily Galbreath and husband Ashford, and Jessica Dunlavy and husband
Justin; grandsons, Matt Westfall and wife Krys, and Evan Thach and
wife Kailey; and great-grandchildren, Helena Galbreath, Harper
Galbreath, Elle Dunlavy, Kane Dunlavy and Palmer Thach.
She was preceded in death by her
parents.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday
(March 8, 2018) at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastors Kim
Andrews and Claire Gadberry officiating. Burial will follow in
Burrton Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (March
7, 2018), with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott
Mortuary, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, the American Cancer
Society or South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, all in care of
Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
