Wally Terry
Wally Terry, 79, died
Thursday (Jan. 29, 2009) at his home in Hesston. Wally was born on Aug. 11,
1929, in Manchester, Okla., to Walter and Ruby Terry. They preceded him in
death. Wally married Agnes Jennie McClure on June 30, 1949, in Newton. She
survives in the home. He retired from the city of Newton Water Department.
Wally was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was noted for his coyote hunting
adventures. Wally also is survived by five daughters, Rita and David Jamison of
Hesston, Linda and Alan Seeney of Brainard, Deborah Terry of Hesston, Carolyn
and Leland Stiver of Newton, and Chantay and Andrew Stanley of Moyock, N.C.; 13
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death
by his sisters, Rita Kooken and Norine Bair, and brother, Wayne Terry.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with the family greeting
friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at
10 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of God in Newton.
Burial will be at Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton following the service.
A memorial has been set up
for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.
