Ronald Paul Toews
Ronald Paul Toews passed away
Jan. 18, 2009, in Portland, Ore.
Ron was born on Dec. 10,
1955, in Newton to Marilyn D. Pletcher Gradert and Jay Maurice Toews.
He was a graduate of Newton
High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the United
Methodist Church of Silverton, Ore.
Ron loved outdoor activities
like kayaking, fishing and bicycling cross country. His hobbies were
woodworking and gardening. Ron worked in the medical profession, counseling
substance abusers and also working with children with disabilities.
He is survived by his
parents; five siblings, Jay Mark and Deborah Toews, Jerry and Claudia Toews,
Debbie Toews, Marcy Cheadle and Joshua Toews; and 11 nieces and nephews, all of
Spokane, Wash. He also is survived by his ex-wife, Ericka Toews, and her family
in Silverton.
Ron's presence will be
missed, but his spirit will always live on in those who loved him. We love you,
Ron.
