Rudolph 'Rudy' P. Yelenich
Rudolph 'Rudy' P. Yelenich
passed on to be with his wife, Kay Yelenich, on Saturday (Feb. 7, 2009) at the
age of 91.
He was born on June 22, 1917,
in Hibbing, Minn.
Rudy joined the Navy and was
stationed in San Francisco, where he met Kay Kline, whom he married in 1944. He
later was stationed aboard the USS Morrison and served during World War II.
After leaving the service,
Rudy was employed by PG&E for 29 years.
Also preceding him in death
were his parents; brothers, John and Peter; and sisters, Anne, Mary, Stephana
and Kathryn.
He is survived by several
nieces, nephews and those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton, with the family
receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in
Newton, with the Rev. Juan Garza presiding.
Burial will be at Whitewater
Cemetery in Whitewater.
In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to the American Legion of Newton in care of Broadway Colonial
Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
