Ramona Sifuentez
Ramona Sifuentez, 88, went to
be with her heavenly father on Saturday (Feb. 7, 2009) at Kansas Christian Home
in Newton.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1920,
in Roper, the daughter of Luiz (Perez) and Gorgonia Hernandez. They preceded
her in death.
On Nov. 27, 1940, she married
Jose Cosme Sifuentez in Newton. He preceded her in death.
Ramona was a member of Our
Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society, both of Newton.
Ramona and Jose enjoyed socializing and dancing. She also enjoyed crocheting
with her sister, Connie, and she enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
Survivors include eight
children, Jessie Maria Aranda of El Paso, Texas, Victoria Ann Carrion of
Newton, Enriqueta 'Ricki' Valdez of Newton, Micaela Kincade of Seattle, Cecilia
Sifuentez of Newton, Julie Ann White of Fallon, Nev., Dario Sifuentez of Newton
and Ruben Sifuentez of Newton.
Also preceding her in death
were three sisters, Connie Terrones, Angel Ramirez and Florida Terrones.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary
will be at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with the
Rev. Juan Garza presiding.
Burial will be at St. Mary's
Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
