Dorothy M. Dellenbaugh
Dorothy M. Dellenbaugh, 82,
of Newton, died Saturday (Feb. 21, 2009) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
Dorothy was born on Aug. 26, 1926, in Foraker, Okla., the daughter of Harvey B.
and Erma Potter Blenden. They preceded her in death. She married Melvin Leon
Dellenbaugh on Aug. 15, 1945, in Arkansas City. Melvin died on March 11, 2003.
They lived in Arkansas City for many years until moving to Newton in 1971.
Dorothy had been a stenographer for the Santa Fe Railroad for 34 years before
retiring.
She was a member of First
Presbyterian Church in Newton.
Survivors include her son,
Lane Dellenbaugh of Newton; two daughters, Sharry Hicks and Kathy Watson both
of Arkansas City; one brother, Neal Blenden of Newkirk, Okla.; one sister,
Frances Bain of Arkansas City; and four grandchildren.
She also was preceded in
death by one son, Kent Allen Dellenbaugh, and one daughter, Nancy Dellenbaugh.
Friends may sign the book
from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. The family
will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial services will be at
2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Newton, with the Rev. James W.
Anderson officiating.
