Frances B. Markee
Frances B. Markee, 87,
formerly of Whitewater, passed away on Saturday (Feb. 14, 2009) at Newton
Medical Center. She was born on March 30, 1921, the daughter of Wesley and Elsa
(Rosenbaum) Fuller in Nampa, Idaho. She served her country in the Marines
during World War II. She was a retired legal secretary. On Aug. 12, 1969, she
married Arleigh E. Markee. She was preceded in death by sisters: Wilma Cox,
June Pace, Marjorie Shriver and Marian Caron; and a step-grandchild.
She is survived by her
husband of Newton; brothers Wesley, Wayne and Bruce Fuller, all of Idaho;
sister Doris Cabrera of Sumter, S.C.; stepchildren Terry of Towanda, Gary of
Wichita and Pam (Delbert) Hopkins of Newton; four stepgrandchildren; and five
great-stepgrandchildren.
Visitation with family is
from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lamb Funeral Home of Whitewater.
The funeral service will be
at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church of Newton. Interment will be in the
McGill Cemetery of Potwin.
Memorial funds have been
established for Kansas Christian Home or the American Cancer Society, all in
care of the funeral home.
