J. C. Heyman
J. C. Heyman, 73, passed away
Thursday (Feb. 26, 2009) at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado. He
was born on March 7, 1935, in Newton. He was raised by his grandparents Calvin
and Hattie Heyman. He graduated from Burns High School. He then served in the
Army Medical Corps. On July 7, 1962, he married Sandra Heath in El Dorado. They
had one child to their union. He recently retired after 30 years of service
with the Kansas Turnpike Authority. He also was a cattleman and enjoyed feeding
and checking the pastures. He was an active member of his church, serving as
chairman of the AD Council. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the
produce with friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his loving
wife, Sandy, their son, Jim, and their grandson, Steven, all of Burns.
Visitation with family will
be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm in Marion.
Funeral service will be at
10:30 a.m. Monday at Burns United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim Bush
presiding.
Interment with military rites
will be at Ebenezer Cemetery near Burns.
A memorial fund has been
established with the church in care of the funeral home.
