Helen L. Classen Isaac
Schierling, 95, died Tuesday (Jan. 13, 2009) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She was born May 29, 1913, in Meade County. She married George T. Schierling on
April 8, 1960, in Newton. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1987. Helen was
a member of First Mennonite Church in Newton. She is survived by her
stepchildren, Harry Schierling, George and Dorothy Schierling Ensz, and George
and LaVerna Schierling; stepdaughters-in-law, Lula Schierling and Virginia
Schierling; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; husband, George T. Schierling Sr.; stepsons, Edward Schierling and
Irvin Schierling; and stepdaughter, Alida Schierling.
Visitation will be from 5 to
9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. The family will receive
friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10
a.m., Saturday at Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston, with Chaplain Beverly
Baumgartner presiding.
Burial will follow at the
Buhler City Cemetery in Buhler.
