Dorothy Werner
Dorothy May Werner, 78, died Wednesday (Dec. 10,
2008) at Asbury Park Healthcare in Newton.
She was born April 2, 1930, in Topeka to Frank and
Sara Elizabeth (Boyle) Werner. They preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a retired accountant for Crosby Brothers
in Topeka and was a CNA for Halstead Nursing Center.
She was a member of First Methodist Church in Topeka
and of Caring Place in Newton.
She is survived by a daughter, Christina Spraggs of
Edmond, Okla.
She also was preceded in death by her brother, Paul
Werner.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at
Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Her daughter will be present from 6 to 7:30
p.m. to greet friends.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at
Asbury Park's chapel.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at
Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, with Pastor Jeanne Bergen of Golden Plains Free
Methodist Church in rural Newton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Caring Place
in care of the funeral home.
