Betty Ann Huskerson
Betty Ann Huskerson, 75, of Newton, died Monday
(Dec. 15, 2008) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born on Sept. 13, 1933, in Ferris, Texas, to
Robert M. and Alta Mae (Phillips) Hurst. They preceded her in death.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events. Betty was an
avid KU basketball fan and was known to be quite a conversationalist. She
enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble. Betty will be
remembered most for her deep love and devotion to her children.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in
Newton and a participant of Compassionate Friends.
Survivors include daughter, Karla and Wade Reichmann
of Maize; son, Jeff and Melody Huskerson of Greeley, Colo.; daughter, Lou
Ratzlaff of Midlothian, Texas; sister, Bobbie Mohundro of Bristol, Texas;
brother, Don Hurst of Greenville, Texas; nine grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana
Delane Huskerson; son-in-law, Darrel Ratzlaff; brother, Billy Hurst; sister,
Joyce Grounds; and brother, Kenneth Hurst.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at
Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30
p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at
Immanuel Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Ronan and Jeff Huskerson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate
Friends or Immanuel Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
