Leonette R. Hoffman
Leonette R. Hoffman, 96, passed away Monday (Dec.
22, 2008) at Life Care Center of Andover.
She was born Nov. 4, 1912, in Hesston to Fredrick
Baxter and Elsie Alice (Reed) Lyon. She married J.W. 'Bill' Hoffman on March
28, 1933, in Hesston. He preceded her in death in 1981.
She was a homemaker and a member of Woodland United
Methodist Church.
She was past president of Beauceants (Masons) and
the Past Noble Grand of Rebeccas No. 458, both in Newton.
Survivors include son, Jack and Barbara Hoffman of
Merritt Island, Fla.; daughter, Bobbie and Mike Freed of Andover; seven
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph
Lyon and Reed Lyon, and sisters, Leota Welty and Iva Sanders.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Miller
Funeral Home in Hesston.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at
Woodland United Methodist Church, 1100 W. 15th in Wichita, with Pastor Amy
Lippoldt officiating.
Committal service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at
Hesston Cemetery in Hesston.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS
Association in care of the funeral home.
