Vernelle A. Wedel
Vernelle A. Wedel, 87, died Saturday (Dec. 20, 2008)
at her home in Moundridge.
She was born Jan. 6, 1921, in Goessel to Jacob F.
and Augusta B. Voth Tieszen.
She married Harvey R. Wedel on Oct. 5, 1941, in
Newton. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include four daughters, Donna (J. Clyde)
Bradbury of Wichita, Rebecca (Robert) Moddelmog of Moundridge, Joetta (Roger)
Green of Douglass and Eunice (David) Opat of Lindsborg; two sisters, Darlene
Gilchrist of Hays and Helen Sanders of Eugene, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey;
daughter, Ruth Carey; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be from noon until service time on
Friday at First Mennonite Church in Moundridge, followed by the funeral service
at 2 p.m. at the church.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to the Moundridge
Senior Center in care of Moundridge Funeral Home in Moundridge.
