Dale E. Rose
Dale E.
Rose, 58, died Tuesday (Dec. 30, 2008) at Newton Medical Center.
He was born
March 15, 1950, in Newton to Richard Junior and Joan Lee (Onstott) Rose.
On April 8,
1972, he married Christine Carroll in Weston, Conn. She survives of the home.
He was a
1968 graduate of Newton High School. Dale proudly served his country in the
U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a member of the
American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Newton.
Dale was an
employee of Learjet for the last 18 years, where he developed many lasting
friendships.
He enjoyed
spending time at the family cabin on Council Grove lake and playing cards with
his card group. Dale greatly looked forward to spending time with his loving
family and many friends.
Other
survivors include sons, David and Sara Rose of Newton, and Micah and Jordan
Rose of Lawrence; daughter, Leah Rose of Newton; mother, Joan Lee (Onstott)
Rose of Newton; granddaughter, Kayin Rose of Lawrence; and grandson, Max Rose
of Newton.
He was
preceded in death by his father, Richard Junior Rose.
A graveside
service with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Restlawn Gardens of
Memory in rural Newton, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Petersen Funeral
Home in Newton, with Pastor Steve Toews and Pastor Brad Burkholder officiating.
Memorial
contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Rose
Grandchildren Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home
