Nadine Frazier Darrow
Nadine Frazier Darrow, 91,
passed away Thursday (Oct. 30, 2008) at Asbury Park Greenhouses in Newton.
She was born March 10, 1917,
in Wellington to Ezra Clarence and Zelda Marguerite (Savage) Harrah. They
preceded her in death.
For her elementary and high
school education, she attended the teaching lab school at the University of
Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.
For her college education,
she also attended the University of Northern Colorado, where she obtained a
bachelor's degree in music.
During her long teaching
career, she taught in various states, but mostly in Illinois and Kansas.
On June 9, 1938, she married
Ralph Frazier in Greeley. Ralph preceded her in death.
On June 24, 2000, she married
Floyd Darrow in Newton. He survives of Newton.
She was a member of the
Golden Notes at the Newton Senior Center. She started painting when she was
more than 60 years old, and she twice won first prize for her paintings.
Other survivors include
daughter, Paula Ash of Marion; son, Randy Frazier and wife, Diane Abernauth, of
Jackson, Wyo.; daughter, Patti and Richard Schote of Minneapolis, Minn.;
sister, Mary Sue Harrah of Greeley; five grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in
death by a brother, Ronald Harrah, and a sister, Dorthy Harrah.
Funeral service will be at 2
p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with the Rev. Charles Kaufmann
officiating.

made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Newton Presbyterian Manor in care of the
funeral home.
