Ruth A. Knee
Ruth A. Knee, 92, died Friday
(Nov. 21, 2008) at Newton Medical Center. She was born Nov. 20, 1916, in Ulman,
Mo., to Marshall and Nettie (Stapp) Price. They preceded her in death. She
married Ivan P. Knee on July 14, 1933, in Wichita, and he preceded her in
death. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church of Newton. Ruth was
affectionately known as 'Aunt Pat' by her beloved nieces and nephews. She
enjoyed being a homemaker and was known for her love of baking. She enjoyed
sharing her baked goods and recipes with her family.
Since her husband's death,
Ruth greatly enjoyed the friends and acquaintances she made during the years in
the various apartment complexes she lived in. She also greatly looked forward
to spending with her loving family.
Survivors include a son,
Jackie D. Knee of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister, Lola Anderson of Newton; several
nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in
death by a son, Jimmie R. Knee; a daughter, Ivalynn R. Cena; and a brother,
Wiley B. Price.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Graveside service will be at
2 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, with Chaplain Denny Bell of
Kansas Christian Home officiating.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the Heart to Heart Child Advocacy Center in care of the funeral home.
