Katherine M. Janzen
Katherine M. Janzen, 69, died
Tuesday (Sept. 30, 2008) at Asbury Park Greenhouses in Newton. She was born
March 14, 1939, in Wichita to Ella Janzen. She preceded her in death. She was a
member of First Church of the Nazarene in Newton. She attended Washington
Elementary and Santa Fe Junior High in Newton. She did domestic work for
several Newton families. Katherine was a voracious reader and greatly looked
forward to spending time with her loving family and caring friends. Katherine
also enjoyed crossword puzzles and word searches. She was an avid KFDI radio
fan and loved their former DJ Cornbread. She cared about dogs and always had
pet dogs before she moved to Asbury Park. She enjoyed telling stories and
entertaining folks. Katherine was in the group of Asbury Park residents and
staff who were at the groundbreaking ceremony at the new Asbury Park
Greenhouses.
She is survived by several
cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Funeral service will be at 2
p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles West of First Church of
the Nazarene in Newton officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood
Cemetery in Newton.

made to Asbury Park or the Newton Public Library in care of the funeral home.
