Elmer Jantz
Elmer Jantz, 91, of Burns
died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 2008) at Moundridge Manor Inc. He was born Jan. 8,
1917, in Montezuma to Eli B. and Adina (Eck) Jantz. On April 20, 1941, he
married Dorothy Koehn in Halstead. She survives of the home. Elmer was a member
of the Eden Mennonite Church in rural Burns. He was a retired farmer and
mechanic. Elmer also repaired air conditioners. He greatly enjoyed his life's
work and enjoyed spending time with his loving family and many friends. Other
survivors include daughter, Cheryl and Richard Koehn of DeRidder, La.; sons,
Jerald and LaVonne Jantz of Burns, and James and Karen Jantz of ElDorado
Springs, Mo; sister, Frances Koehn of Montezuma; seven grandchildren; and 17
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; four brothers; three sisters; and grandson and wife Timothy and
Cynthia Koehn.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Eden Mennonite Church. Officiating will be Lowell Koehn, Roland
Koehn and Vernon Koehn with Eden Church of God in Christ Mennonite in rural
Burns.
Burial will be in Eden
Mennonite Church Cemetery in Burns.
Visitation will be from 1 to
5 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Memorial contributions may be
made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and Gospel Tract and Bible Society in care
of the funeral home
