Margaret Ellen (Breeden) Compton

Margaret E. Compton, 89, passed away Sunday (Oct. 19, 2008) at Newton Presbyterian Manor in Newton. She was born Nov. 3, 1918 on the family acreage near Ada, Okla., to William E. and Lavina (Taylor) Breeden. They preceded her in death. She attended grade school and high school in Ada. As an adult she attended First Baptist Church in Ada. On April 2, 1946, she married E. L. Compton in Ada. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1990. To this union, two sons were born.

During her lifetime, she was a childcare provider, and later, she worked as a nurse's aide at the Valley View Hospital in Ada.

Survivors include sons, Larry (Becky) of Ada, and Rod (Sara) of Newton; grandchildren, Kathryn (Jeff) Baker of Kremlin, Okla., Jonna of Ada, Nicole of Neosho, Mo., and Marc of Newton; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Bentley, and McQuinn Baker; brother, Calvin Breeden of Ada; and sister, Thelma Gurley of Hilton's Head Island, S.C.

Preceding her in death were brothers, William, Grant, George and Logan, and her twin, Phillip.

Services are pending. Burial will be in Connerville, Okla.
