Beatrice R. Buller
Beatrice R. Buller, of
Beaumont, Texas, and former Newton resident and Bethel College graduate, passed
away Oct. 12, 2008, in Dallas at the age of 88. Born in Duisburg, Germany, she
emigrated with her family to the United States in 1944. She was a past teacher
in Kansas and Texas, and in her retired life, she was very active in teaching
English to immigrants. She participated in Habitat for Humanity and was an
advocate for Some Other Place in Beaumont. She was an avid crossword puzzler
and liked doing the New York Times puzzle, in pen, no less! She was active in
the Northwood Christian Church in Beaumont as an elder and tireless volunteer.
During her years away from Kansas, she enjoyed many visits to her Buller
relatives for reunions and to Bethel College for alumni functions.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Henry P., in 1993, and by her son, René A. in 1969.
She is survived by her
brother and sister-in-law, Gerard and Marie Rosenthal of Aurora, Colo.; her
nieces, Jeanne-Marie Neuroth (Rick) of Wichita and Carol Ann Rosenthal of
Logan, Utah; her nephews, Roger Rosenthal of Arlington, Va., Donald Rosenthal
of Redwood City, Calif., Robert Rosenthal (Kim) of Denver and Richard Rosenthal
(Felicity) of Highlands Ranch, Colo. She also had two great-nieces, seven
great-nephews, and two great-great-nieces. She also is survived by many close
relatives on the Buller side of the family.
Memorial services will be at
11 a.m. Nov. 15 at Northwood Christian Church in Beaumont.
