Eugene 'Gene' Ray Schlabach
Eugene 'Gene' Ray Schlabach,
60, died Monday (Sept. 1, 2008) at his home in Newton. He was born March 13,
1948, in Sturgis, Mich., to Alvin Ray Schlabach and Anna (Schlabach) Roine. He
was married to Treva (Armstrong) Schlabach, who preceded him in death in
September 2007. Survivors include his mother, Anna (Schlabach) Roine of
Sarasota, Fla.; son, Jeff Schlabach and wife, Sasha Sittner, of Gunnison,
Colo.; daughter, Karen Schlabach of Overland Park; son, Scott and wife Tracy Hayes
of Georgetown, Texas; daughter, Ronda and husband Steve Horstman of Corinth, Texas;
daughter, Josie and husband Andrew Yount of Los Angeles; brother, Larry and
wife Sharon Schlabach of Topeka, Ind.; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Karen
Hayes of Newton; brother-in-law, Bill and wife Linda Armstrong of Offerle;
grandson, Bill Sims; granddaughters, Taylor and Kelsey Hayes, and Allyson
Horstman; great-grandson, Luke; great-granddaughter, Ayden; and several nieces
and nephews.
He also was preceded in death
by his father, Alvin Ray Schlabach, and his step-father, Ralph 'Butch' Roine.
A memorial service will be at
1 p.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Newton.

Newton.
