Lois Kirchmer
Lois (Hall) Kirchmer, 85,
passed away Saturday (Sept. 20, 2008) at her residence in Newton. She was born
April 18, 1923, in Whitewater to Zerna Hershel and Maude (Vowler) Hall. They
preceded her in death. On Sept. 1, 1943, she married Marion Kirchmer at First
Christian Church in Newton. Marion died on April 25, 1992. Lois was a longtime
member of Salem United Methodist Church in Newton and the Double Duty Sunday
school class. She was an avid participant in Pinochle clubs.
Lois had many long-term
friends whom she socialized with throughout her life. She was very involved in
the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by sons,
Larry Kirchmer and wife, Valerie, of Wichita, and Galen Kirchmer and wife,
Shelley, of Loveland, Colo.; daughter, Teresa Stucky and husband, Don, of
Newton; brother, Calvin Hall of Burns; seven grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends
from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Wednesday at Salem United Methodist Church, with Chaplain Peter Hartman of
Hospice Care of Kansas in North Newton officiating.
Burial will be at Restlawn
Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial contributions may be
made to Salem United Methodist Church or Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the
funeral home.
