Jack Lee Graham
Jack Lee Graham, 83, passed
away Tuesday (July 29, 2008) at Newton Presbyterian Manor Care Center in
Newton, where he was a resident.
He was born Aug. 28, 1924, in
Clements to Lee and Blanche (Whitcraft) Graham. They preceded him in death.
He was a World War II Navy
veteran who served his country in the South Pacific.
After the war, he had a
strong interest in aircraft, jets and flying. He became a pilot and flew
experimental jet planes for nine years at Lear Jet. He was the founder and
owner of Avcon Corp. of Newton for 17 years. He retired in 1997.
He was a member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Society of Experimental Engineering Test
Pilots.
He is survived by his son,
Gil Graham of Winchester, Mass.; a step-son, Lynn McVay and wife, Claudia, of
Exeter, N.H.; and one grandchild.
A private family inurnment at
Clements Cemetery in Clements is planned.
