Dwight Lee Schreiber
Dwight Lee Schreiber, 66, of
Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Thursday (July 31, 2008) at his daughter's house
in Newton with his family at his side after a short battle with cancer.
He was born March 30, 1942,
in Salina to Merton Everett and Gladys Opal (Arnold) Schreiber. They preceded
him in death.
Dwight enjoyed car shows and
'big horsepower' cars and boats. He loved the ocean and loved his time spent on
the Florida beaches.
He was a retired Boeing
employee.
Special thanks to his friend
and caregiver, Kathy Halak. All of her efforts and care were greatly
appreciated.
Survivors include daughter,
Tawnia and Charlie Newell of Newton; sons, Ty and Teri Schreiber of Peabody and
Troy Schreiber of Wichita; grandchildren, Raegan and Lexi Schreiber of Peabody,
Jestin and Mason Schreiber of Wichita, Elliott Newell of Newton, Kalynn Newell
of Wichita and Elaina Newell of Pittsburg; and brother, Norman Schreiber of
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
He also was preceded in death
by a daughter, Tammi Linnette Schreiber.
Visitation will be from 1 to
5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family greeting friends
from 2 to 4 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10
a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Newton, with the Rev. James
Anderson of the church officiating.
Burial will be at Resthaven
Cemetery in Wichita.
Memorial contributions may be
made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home.
