Robert 'Bob' Green
Robert 'Bob' Green, 78, of
Whitewater, passed away Friday (Aug. 15, 2008) at Newton Medical Center.
Born Feb. 26, 1930, in Leon,
he was the son of Lloyd and Mildred Green.
On June 21, 1952, he married
Beverly Wiens of Whitewater. She passed away in 1985.
On May 10, 1989, he married
Thelma Ulmer of Whitewater. She survives of the home.
He operated a welding shop,
which was his work and hobby, and was a longtime employee of the Harvey County
Road and Bridge Department.
Survivors include sons,
Patrick, Nathaniel and Thaddeus, all of Whitewater; two daughters, Stacy Bell
of Whitewater and Tracy Roth of Newton; two stepsons, Sidney Ulmer of
Whitewater and Rex Ulmer of Texas; brother, Merril Green of El Dorado; sister,
Betty Johnson of Emporia; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
two brothers, Harold and Richard Green; a sister, Lavina Dodson; and one son,
Daniel Green.
Visitation will be from 4 to
8 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater, with family present from 6
to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be at
10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Federated Church in Whitewater, with burial to
follow at Green Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the
family requests contributions be made to Shriner's Hospital in care of the
funeral home.
