Harold R. Jantz
Obituary
Harold R. Jantz 88, died on Tuesday
(Nov. 15, 2011) at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. He was born on June
16, 1923, in Tampa to Alfred B. and Susie (Redger) Jantz. On May 2,
1948, he married Elvera V. Unruh at New Hopedale Mennonite Church in
Meno, Okla. She preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 2008. Harold was a
member of the former Frieden-stahl Mennonite Church and later Central
Heights Mennonite Church in rural Marion County, and he attended
Faith Mennonite Church in Newton. He was a retired dairy farmer and
cattleman. Harold served on various church boards and was active in
setting up various boards including rural water and fire districts in
Marion County. He also served on election boards.
Harold is survived by two sons, Rod and
Karen Jantz of Stilwell, and Brad Jantz of Newton; one daughter,
Deanna and Harold Webb of Highland, Calif.; two sisters, Darlene
Unruh of Hillsboro and Elvera Dirks of Topeka. He had six
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded by his parents; wife;
two brothers; Melvin and Jonathan Jantz; two sisters, Verna Decker
and Hulda Decker; three infant siblings; and one grandson.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m.
Monday at Faith Mennonite Church in Newton. A committal service will
be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Peace Valley Cemetery in rural Marion County.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday with the family receiving
friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
