Shirley R. Shank
Shirley R. Shank, 76, homemaker, died
Friday (Dec. 24, 2004) at Newton Medical Center. She was born Aug.
20, 1928, to Martin and Mae M. (Carter) Hartert in Red Rock, Okla.
They preceded her in death. She married H. Dean Shank in Wichita. He
survives of Newton. Her family moved to Wichita where she attended
public school and graduated from East High School in 1946. She was a
member of Salem United Methodist Church in Newton. Other survivors
include: two daughters, Suzanne Harrison of Houston and Lynda Wallis
of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Joanne Blood of Fort Lauderdale,
Fla.; a grandson, Keenan Sherfy of Houston; and several nieces and
nephews.
She also was preceded in death by two
brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p. m.
Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p. m. at Petersen
Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10 a. m.
Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Schneider of
Hesston United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in
Wichita.
Memorials have been established with
Salem United Methodist church in care of the funeral home.
