Harold A. Trost
HESSTON -- Harold A. Trost, 81, of
rural Concordia and Hesston, died Tuesday (Aug. 8, 2000) at Newton
Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1919, in Rice to Ezra and Louise
(Nanninga) Trost. He married Edith J. Kivett April 30, 1941, in
Huscher. She preceded him in death April 25, 1989. He married Viola
A. Hiebert Nov. 18, 1990, in Newton. She survives of Hesston. He
worked for the Civil Conservation Corp planting trees and farmed in
the Huscher community for many years. He also was employed by a house
moving business and worked for ASCS office in Concordia, where he did
field measuring.
He was a member of United Methodist
Church in Huscher, where he served on the board of trustees. In his
earlier years he served on the school board for the Huscher school.
He also was a member of the Farm Bureau, life member of the North
American Hunting Club and life member of the National Rifle
Association.
Other survivors include: one son, Randy
Trost of Concordia; three daughters, Judy Carlgren and Sue Barnett,
both of Sedan and Ann Lanoue of Concordia; one sister, Lois Duewell
of Concordia; one brother, Carl Trost of Concordia; 10 grandchildren;
and 12 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by two
brothers, Merton Trost and Robert Trost.
Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m.
Saturday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel in Concordia with Pastors Bill
Eisele and David Reimer officiating. Burial will be in the Nelson
Cemetery in Huscher.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. To 8:30 p.
m. Friday with family greeting friends from 7 to 8:30 p. m. at the
funeral home.
