Obituary
Dorothy Lorene Koehn, 79, of Newton,
passed away Sunday (May 13, 2018) at Via Christi St. Francis in
Wichita. Dorothy was born Feb. 13, 1939, in Newton, the daughter of
Luther and Gladys (Merrell) Phillips.
Dorothy graduated from Burns High
School and went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Butler
Community College. On Dec. 30, 1967, she married Roy E. Koehn in
Newton. They had 45 years together before his passing on June 9,
2013. Dorothy worked as a secretary in an insurance company. She was
a member of Eastside United Methodist Church and enjoyed passing time
by reading.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her
husband, Roy; her parents, Luther and Gladys; brother, Robert
Phillips; sisters, Betty Dennett, Jane Harms and Lucille Wyss; and
half son, Don Koehn.
She is survived by brother, Kenneth
Phillips of El Dorado; sister, Beverly LeFever of El Dorado; and
daughter-in-law, Diana Koehn.
Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday (May 17, 2018) at the Eastside United Methodist Church, with
Pastor Steve Hysom officiating. No visitation is planned. Burial will
follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are
suggested to either Eastside UMC or Presbyterian Manor and may be
sent in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
