Obituary
Phillip G. Morford, 55, died Sunday
(May 13, 2018) at his Wichita residence. He was born December 18,
1962, in Newton to Galen and Marie (Bachman) Morford. On Dec. 26,
1987, he married Stephanie Jaso at St. Mary Catholic Church in Newton
and she survives.
Phillip was a radiation health
technician for the U.S. Government prior to his retirement.
He attended St. Mary Catholic Church in
Newton and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Phillip enjoyed water sports including
scuba diving, swimming, water skiing and tubing. He earned his scuba
certification at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, while employed with the U.S.
Government. He enjoyed "Star Trek" and science fiction and
relaxed with a Diet Coke and crossword puzzle.
His family was important to him and he
looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many
friends, and was looking forward to meeting his newest grandbaby in a
few months.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie
of the home; daughter, Mekila McIver and husband Issac Mclver of
Canton; brother, Steve Morford of Wichita; sister, Cheryl McMillan of
Newton; and one grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents;
and brother-in-law, Steve Jaso.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday
(May 22, 2018) at St. Mary Catholic Church in Newton, with The
Reverend Nicholas Voelker as celebrant. Recitation of the Holy Rosary
with Knights of Columbus will be 6 p.m. Monday (May 21, 2018) at
Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends before
and after the Rosary until 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Mary
Catholic Cemetery, Newton.
